Mission Statement

Our mission at Black River Youth Shepherds of Williamsburg County, South Carolina, is to empower the next generation by instilling a positive, goal oriented mindset and encouraging youth to believe in themselves. Our highly experienced coaches offer hope and a sense of purpose while teaching important life skills and lessons through sports. Our purpose is to help build a sense of confidence and provide valuable tools that foster success both on and off the field. There are many skills that can be taught through sports that transfer into both classroom and life skills such as conflict resolution, communication skills, work ethic, resiliency, teamwork, self-reliance and respect. Our mission is to promote these skills in the next generation.

Our highly qualified coaches are experienced in working with children of all ages and are experts at tailoring sessions to meet the specific needs of each child with utmost compassion and care. Coaches use sports as a vehicle to achieve success in teaching team building and leadership skills as well as valuable information about  lifelong health and wellness.
